Hi, I was driving along a very busy road. Sion - Trombay Road... And I came across this huge installation with lots of lights... presumably some "mela"... a fun-fair going around in the K. J. Somaiya Hospital grounds near Everad Nagar... This fair has HUGE installations of lights.. and so much so that the amount of power spent can bring lights to a lot of our farmers, citizens and other industrial units that go under brunt of load shedding...
Did someone say that Mumbai had a shortage of Power? Did we hear someone talk about "Power Saving"... There are slogans of "Power On, India On"...
I will post a picture of this event in a couple of days (I tried to capture it on my mobile, its so dazzling that my 1.3 megapixels camera phone did not catch it!! )...
Are we wasting too much power when we go carefree celebrating the New Year... ???
Are we taking the city for granted ???
Are we awake ???
Are we out of our dream-world.. ???
Making a "Shanghai" out of Mumbai is a long dream... First lets save enough for our kids...

Frankly speaking Mumbai is going to the dogs and if every one of us, that is a citizen wakes up and does his bit this city is going to go down thr drains. I may be pessimestic. But just have a look at the satellite pictures of Mumbai and you will come to know what this place has become...If you want to talk more on this drop me a message.Infact I am posting a blog on this issue on my blog and how I am thinking of tackling it. It's a huge task but atleast making an effort as you have with htis blog.I hope my words won't go wasted here and you read this.
